When I was working out eye treatment and ear placement I pinned everything on. All the tails were left on to use when sewing each piece. Made the cat look very creepy.

Yarn & Brittle
Yesterday went for a walk to Fibresmith and bought some lovely hand dyed yarn and some Japanese thread. Then later made some nut brittle.

Doll Makings
I started making this doll a little while ago, but put is aside to make other things. I sewed the body seams and stuffed it last night. I am aiming at making a child in knitting. When I made the tree topping fairy last year, which was in crochet, I was unable to make it look like a young girl. I thought knitting might work better. I have also been playing around with head shaping, but clearly this one is not big enough for this body. Also none of it is near finished, lots of shaping and work to do.

Book Haul
Yesterday I went on my first non-supermarket outing in months, a trip to Can Do Books. Had a lovely chat with Stephanie and a browse of the books. Brought three home, and with an obvious animal theme. I bought a piece from the artist of the middle book several years ago, a little stitched scottie dog. Of course I had to dig him out when I got home.

Another Sock
Hoping third time's the charm with sock knitting. I'm working the whole pattern instructions of the Fish Lips Kiss Heel, not just the heel. Hence the cardboard cut out of my foot shape. The yarn is the lovely hand dyed skein I bought from Little Yellow Cat.

Covered Coat Hanger
After finishing the ginger cat I wasn't quite sure what to do next. A crochet covered granny hanger, that will do, keep me busy while I think.

Knitted Ginger Cat
I finished a commission yesterday, the brief: make a ginger cat with attitude. There is a felt cat under all the knitting for structure. A bit thank you to Abbe from The Noble Fox Yarn Co for hand dying the yarn, fabulous job, looked like a ginger cat before I started. Button eyes, embroidery for features and seam treatment, wire for structure, and fishing line whiskers. He will be making his way to Sydney very soon.

Godzilla of the Chicken World
I made this needlelace chicken when I did the Advanced Needlelace class at the Embroiderers Guild in 2015. The third project of the course was to make something 3D. She now resides in our china cabinet overseeing the village and the Navy like a Godzilla.

A Very Friendly Sheep
My friend Janette came to visit yesterday to have a chat about crafting and other things. She didn't remember seeing the sheep I made in 2018, so I thought I would show it again. We met a very friendly sheep when Piers and I went to the Bendigo Sheep & Wool Show that year. I came home and made one. It is crocheted, with lots and lots of loops for fleece, and a felt face and ears. She now resides in the craft room with all the other creatures.

Lemon Tree
We had a lemon tree in the back yard that wasn't doing very well so I cut it down. The branches are beside our garage and I have been putting as much as I can in our green bin each week. Last week I thought I should see if I can dye with it. Luckily I remembered while I still had some branches. So this is the result. A piece of cotton fabric and two bits of ric rac (it doesn't show in the photo, but they are a light lemon colour), a skein of 4ply merino, and a skein of 8ply merino baby yarn. The colour variation is quite dramatic.

Needlelace
I've been a bit quiet with posting lately because I am woking on a commission. Needlelace is a course I took at the Embroiders Guild in 2015 about this time of year. It was a six lesson course over about 12 weeks. We made a crocus flower. I went on and did the Advanced Needlelace course later in the year.
